A. #19101 Birthing Magic I Learned
from Shrek and Other Birthing Magicians
Marlo Robinson,
RN, BSN, LCCE, CD, JD, HBCE
Childbirth educators
and labor companions give so much of themselves to
all whom they teach and support. But, they must take
a much needed "time-out" for themselves on a regular
basis. We may be great at teaching others these
principles, but we don't always practice what we
preach. This session is intended to re-introduce
much-needed 1-minute comfort measures to be used by
labor companions so that they can continue to
provide the best support ever. By "doula-ing"
ourselves, we are in a position to be the best birth
magicians we can be, as we teach and support one
birthing couple at a time. General Audience

Mother-baby Dance

interventional approaches may be introduced that
interfere with natural , instinctive ways for the
mother and baby to achieve a successful
breastfeeding relationship. We will focus on
baby-led practices, which rely on recognition of
natural sucking instincts and physiologic patterns
of newborns. You will learn improved skills in
coaching and observation of the mother-baby dyad in

A. #1911 Understanding The Webster Breech-Turning
Technique
Barbara Davison,
RNC, CI, DCH, HBCE
Currently known as
"Webster's in-utero Constraint Technique", this
technique is being used successfully by many
chiropractors in relieving intrauterine constraint,
thus allowing babies to move into the best possible
position for birth. Intrauterine constraint is
defined as any forces external to the developing
baby that obstructs his normal turn from breech to
vertex position, resulting most often in surgical
birth. Nearly 13% of all cesarean births performed
are due to breech presentation. Come and learn why
you should be familiar with this technique and
should seek a reference source for your parents in
your own area. General Audience

B. #1912 Integrative Eye Movement Therapy Techniques
Steve Griffiths,
DHyp, NLP, HBI
Faculty, ASK, NRH
Integral Eye Movement
Therapy is a
brief therapy
that utilises the application of neurological
principles in order to generate rapid change in the
area of undesired emotional conditioning.
The I.E.M. therapy model
answers the question, "How did the client learn to
feel
this
way, about
that
thing?" and applies specific change at the right
neuro-logical level.
By building resources
inside
the problem state, I.E.M. Therapy brings the client
more into the present and enables the client to stay
out
of past negative experiences permanently.
Integral Eye Movement Therapy is not a grand
unified theory of therapy, but
is a
complete model. I.E.M. Therapy provides an excellent
remedial
tool for emotional change and a
generative
tool for identity change. Thus I.E.M.T. enables
excellent results where previously a good outcome
might have appeared improbable.
The workshop will
demonstrate the practical application using delegate
interaction so that each participant gains a
practical and personal experience of the principles
behind IEMT.
If you are therapist
interested in learning additional techniques to help
your clients change you will not want to miss this
workshop. Hypnotherapists

#2912 Awakening the Life Force
within--Experience the Magic of Chi King
(Qigong)
Joan Koval,
CNM, HBCE, CHt
“The
healer has to be experiencing healing
and wholeness in order to extend it
out.”
Many
Eastern cultures recognized, thousands
of years ago, that there is an energy
flow that runs through every living
thing. This energy is called Chi (Qi).
When this energy is flowing smoothly
through the meridians of the body, we
feel
healthy, happy, and a connection to our
place in the Universe. When the Chi is
not flowing smoothly, there is
stagnation or blockages in the energy
flow which can lead to a lack of balance
and dis-ease. Lets experience the free
flow of Qi while doing the Ba Duan Jin
(Eight Precious Movements) gentle Chi
Kung exercises.

do this.
