2010 Cruise Conclave Highlights!

We are delighted to announce our two opening speakers for the 2010 Cruise Conclave. Just these two featured speakers alone are enough to make this year's Conclave  a must - attend event on your professional development calendar.

Janet Balaskas, a world renowned birthing educator, will join us from the UK and will open our conclave on Tuesday morning with an address through which she will share her thoughts on natural birth. Janet is an important voice in childbirth. In her book, Active Childbirth, Janet speaks to women who have an awareness of the importance of creating a sacred space for birthing. She reaches an audience of birthing women who know that their bodies are designed to conceive a baby, to nurture its development, and to birth instinctively.

Her view of birth is a challenge to the entire obstetrics community. She refutes the assumption that birth should be conducted in an intensive care setting.

Lauren Lane Powell of Stanford Indiana, created her company. Sing for your soul. to teach us the art of ReleaSING stress through the power of music and song.  She will reteach us how to breathe, speak, and sing the way we were born to. We will rediscover how to use the voice and breath to promote inner peace and healing. You don't have to be an accomplished singer to learn how to release endorphins, raise serotonin levels, slow your heart rate, and energize your whole being-- all by singing naturally. If you can laugh, you can sing! If you can sing, you can heal!  You will be amazed at the similarity between healing breaths and the breathing we teach to our moms in our surge and birth breathing patterns.
